McWiLL broadband wireless access system
McWiLL (Multi-Carrier Wireless Information Local Loop) mobile broadband access system is a leading edge mobile broadband wireless communication systemand, which has used several core state-of-the-art technologies such as smart antennas, CS-OFDMA (Code Spreading Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access), adaptive modulation, dynamic channel allocation, make-before-break handoff, SDMA and MIMO. The McWiLL system can provide both high-speed data and voice services to both fixed and mobile users in NLOS (non-line-of-sight) environments. Thanks to the aforementioned advanced technologies, McWiLL offers a large coverage, high spectrum efficiency (up to 15Mbps/5MHz), an efficient combination of high speed and low speed services, low cost terminals, support of high mobility applications, and N=1 deployment. Also, the McWiLL system can easily interface with the Next Generation Networks (NGN) and offer various rich features and services. Furthermore, the McWiLL system offers quality of service (QoS) to different types of traffic and grade of service (GoS) to different kinds of users. In comparison with the popular WiMAX system, McWiLL has significantly larger coverage, lower cost terminals, better conquer of multipath fading, and higher efficiency and reliability for supporting narrowband traffic such as voice. Most importantly, WiMAX has difficulty of supporting N=1X1 deployment and require at least 3 bands to form a reliable network. In contrast , McWiLL is designed to work in those (N=1X1) hostile environments thanks to the superb interference cancellation capability, the special design of the frame structure, and dynamic channel assignment schemes.
Due to the salient data and voice capabilities, McWiLL systems can support most services and applications, ranging from normal voice calls to high speed video conferencing, from occasional web browsing to high resolution video on demand and IPTV, from short messaging and email services to real time dispatching services.
The McWiLL systems can provide special solutions to private and enterprise networks. For example, interfacing with a soft switch or IP PBX having the dispatching capabilities, the carrier can offer IP based dispatching services for both voice and video for railway, airports, and a large size factory. Camera surveillance systems can be quickly set up with the McWiLL systems for public safety purposes. We can even extend the camera surveillance systems to public buses, taxis, and trains thanks to McWiLL support high data rate under fast mobility.
As for the public network operators, the McWiLL solutions are suitable for both developing and developed countries. For developed countries where cell phones are already commodity, McWiLL can provide beyond 3G mobile data services to high end subscribers and fixed voice/data services to small and medium enterprises. For developing countries, the McWiLL systems will offer more voice than data services since the voice demand is still significantly higher . Thanks to the high efficiency in the voice offering, the McWiLL system can offer a large number of voice minutes to the big mass at a low cost. This fits nicely into the voice systems in developing countries since the subscribers in these countries cannot afford high ARPU. As the time goes, if the data demand is increasing, the operator can simply add more base station or capacity to the network without having to switch to a brand new incompatible technology.
In short, unlike other wireless systems, which were designed for one time or one place, the McWiLL solution is in a better position to adapt to the changing demands in different times and different places.
McWiLL systems have deployed in many public network/ public safety/ emergency communications, as well with police, army, public transport, water resource management, power grid management, and various other forms of remote sensing data solutions.
